Other news from the branch is that we have just launched the first edition of the junior newsletter, "The Puffing Devil" , especially for younger members. Also, a joint project with the PCG has been started called "Caradon Mines and Miners Research Project" this is aimed at producing educational material for local schools, all exciting stuff! Anyone out there wanting to play their part, just get in touch with us here or at the meetings.

Tuesday 20th September Liskeard Public Hall 7.30pm- A talk by author Rick Stewart (The mining expert on the TV series “An Edwardian Farm” ) on Fire-setting the ancient way of breaking rocks before explosives
Saturday 29th October walk 10.30am to approx 3.30pm. Introducing Wheel Benny- A guided walk from Luckett by Steve Docksey, experienced guide and local historian. Car parking in the village is very limited, and so not to create too much disturbance to the village we will meet at the Engine House Tea Room at Compton Park.( PL17 8EA. SX370 704) to share cars at 10am. On completion of the walk we will meet back up at the tea room for refreshments, if wished.
