Saturday 18th July 11:00am An Exploration of The Northern Quarries of Kit Hill 
A walk by Steve Docksey. Meet at the northern incline car park.

Visit to the Herodsfoot Gunpowder works remains at Deer Park Forest Holidays.
 A chance to view some newly discovered Edwardian Artefacts, and view the industrial archaeology. Meet at the Cafe SX206 608.


October Friday 2nd October 7:30 at the Liskerrett Centre
"Tin"- A showing of this new film by the Miracle Theatre.
A joint event with the Liskerrett Centre. Contact teammanley to reserve a seat. The Liskerrett Centre is in Varley Lane Liskeard, PL14 4AP ( near to the Cattle Market Car Park).  


Date to be confirmed- Visit to Hemerdon Mine.
An opportunity to visit the newly opened Tungsten mine on the outskirts of Plymouth.


Friday 11th December: 7:30pm Liskeard Public Hall (Long Room) Christmas quiz- Back again this year by popular demand, Come along for an evening of pre-Christmas fun- with a Cornish history slant. Composed and hosted by Richard Humphrey.

21st June- A great chance to join in uncovering some history

On Sunday 21st there us a chance for members to help in some Scrub Clearance on an industrial archaeological site near St. Austell. This is to access the 6 parallel wooden rail lines and associated tanks/drainages. It will then be photographed for the archives and left to grow over again. There is also some  fascinating machinery remains on the site. 
 
Meet at Innis Downs roundabout (A391 exit) at 0930hrs. Bring any tools (loppers, slash hooks, forks) and packed lunch. Please leave a comment on this page if you intend to come along, or drop me an email on the East Cornwall Branch email address shown in the newsletter.

16th May East Cornwal Branch Walk-Luxulyan Valley

On the 16th of May there will be a grand day out for the East Cornwall Branch of The Trevithick Society, a walk round the amazing industrial archeology of the Luxulyan Valley, and then the opportunity to continue westwards for the Society AGM and the annual meal.


16th  May Walk- Exploring the Luxulyan Valley

By the friends of the Luxulyan Valley

Meet at Ponts Mill Car Park. SX 07296 56087, 11am. The car park is reached by a lane opposite Porcupine, you may wish to turn at the bottom of the hill and approach the junction from the St.Blazey direction. See the freinds website (link below) for a map of the valley.
This Walk will be for members, and their guests. 

Bring packed lunch. Walk will be about 2½ to 3 hours long. The walk will be followed by the Trevithick Society AGM and meal at Camborne for those wishing to travel on westwards.

The AGM will be at 5PM and the Meal 7pm- see information sent out in the Journal. 

Should be a great day.

Here is an updated programme for the East Cornwall Branch. Two talks have been swapped around and a new event added in September. 

14th April:7:30pm Liskeard Public Hall(Long Room)
Industrial Archaeology of South Georgia – The remains of the whaling industry at Grytvikn.  A talk by John Manley and Tracy Elliott.


16th  May
Walk- 
Exploring the Luxulyan Valley-By the friends of the Luxulyan Valley
Meet at Ponts Mill Car Park. 11am. Bring packed lunch. Walk will be about 2½ to 3 hours long.
